Should I store my files only on site ?
No. We recommend to store in different places several back-up copies of files you really need. Although we do our best to provide permanent availability and preservation of your data, there are always chances (even if not high) that the data can be lost for example because of natural hazards influencing our data centers functioning or because somebody has claimed violation of use rules connected with your files or files mentioned in your data.

What is the maximum size of a file I can upload on the site ?

What files is it allowed to upload ?
Any files that do not violate our User Agreement or laws of country of stay. It means that files violating copyright laws, or containing pornography are forbidden and will be removed as soon as they are discovered. If you find files of that type on the site we will be grateful if you let us know about them: to do it you need to send a claim from our site`s main page.
Is it possible to upload several files at the same time ?

Can I include links to uploaded images into HTML file?
Unfortunatelly not. As the majority of free Internet-services we would like our traffic to pay back.
If images are included directly into HTML, we can not show advertisements.
Can I delete uploaded files ?
Of course you can do it using a file deletion link or deleting a file through your account
Why is my downloading speed so low ?
Depending on Internet connection that is used for our servers access the files downloading speed can be lower then you thought it should be.
You can install special programs allowing to download files in several streams, in some cases it allows to increase drastically the downloading speed.

Which of download accelerators can I use ?
You can use any download accelerator.
I can1t download any file! What is happening ?
If you do not have an Premium account, you need to count on a number of restrictions while downloading. We allow to download only one file from one IP-Address at the same time and restrict number of data you can download from our servers within particulate time period. If several service users have the same IP-Address (for example while your Internet provider uses proxi-servers or NAT), it can influence negatively your work with site.
I am not downloading/I have not downloaded anything but get the message "Allowed downloading volume is exceeded". Why ?
Perhaps somebody is downloading files using your IP-Address or have already used the allowed downloading volume.
There are three ways of resolving this problem
- You can get connected through another port. Some internet providers use proxi-servers only to get connected through port 80.
We suggest to use two other ports: 800 1723. This way can not be used if your Internet provider gives private IP-addresses (10.*, 172.16-31.*, 192.168.*) or uses NAT.
- You can contact your Internet provider asking to give you public IP-Address or change the Internet provider.
- You can buy Premium-membership that allows to use our site`s services without any restrictions and to download unlimited number of files.
I can not open downloaded file: I have to type in password, choose a program for file opening or absent codec. What should I do ?
Ask the person who has given you the link for file downloading information on file format, needed codecs and passwords. We can not find out this infomation for you.
Can I look through the whole files archive ?
No. Not everybody wants their files to be looked through or downloaded by strangers. In order to protect our Customers private life and copyrights we do not allow to download files if you do not have a link for them.
Why is my download spead so low ?
Files downloading spead can be low; it depends on packs transmission time and packs losses on our servers and also on time of a day. Try to download the file at another time.
I can not get an access to site from my network or in my country. Can it be forbidden or included into black-lists ?
Relative to our service increasing popularity we are forced to limit an amount of the concurrent connections from some countries on the pick-traffic hours. If you are located in one of these countries you can get an Premium account in order to resolve this problem.
If your Internet-provider blocks access to site, send us an e-mail and we will try to resolve this problem or neutralize it together with Internet provider. Please send an e-mail to support@filemashine.com.
Often in order to resolve the problem it is necessary to use Internet proxi-server.
